About Us
The EarthNews Podcast has a simple philosophy: Provide specific information that is useful in its own right but can also serve as a building block which can lead to changes to make a difference in each person’s life as well as our planet. We offer information that is balanced and accurate and offers our audience an opportunity to actually do something rather than just talk about it.
Very often we use our own and our listeners’ real-world experiences as sources for EarthNews programs. For example, we recently sold our second car choosing instead to commute via electric bicycle. We tested many bikes and found one that was sturdy and speedy and held up as an actual commute option. Check out Electric Bikes for the report.
We also want our audience to experience the out-of-doors and found MP3 players and iPods to be perfect deliverers of the information. We have designed a series of audio tours for the Monterey Bay Aquarium and a series of podcasts about the night-time sky for the California Academy of Sciences that when uploaded to these players can offer an enriching experience in the outdoors.
EarthNews began in the 1980’s and for many years was broadcast nationally on CBS Radio. Our programs were also heard on Sirius Satellite Radio. Today we deliver our programs via the Internet which includes live programs and podcasts.
